Why Multi-Congregational?

(From the leadership of Redeemer Winter Haven)

From the beginning, our growth strategy has been church planting – not adding service but multiplying churches/congregations. This is our core belief: the continual planting of new congregations is the single most important strategy for  the numerical growth of the church in the city; and the continual corporate renewal of the existing churches in a city.

Therefore, we are transitioning to a multi-congregational church model. Jeff Skipper will be a leading a core group in the beginning of 2016 with the intention of planting a new congregation in the Southwest quadrant of our city. Our larger vision would be to launch new congregations in all four quadrants of Winter Haven and then eventually the four surrounding cities of Auburndale, Bartow, Haines City, and Lake Wales.

The multi-congregational model is a “middle ground” between simply doing a second service and a traditional church planting scenario. The difference being that the new church would continue to exist and function under the leadership structure and vision/values of Redeemer instead of having as its goal to become its own self-governing body.
