What is the second commandment? How is it different from the first?
II. Making God into Our Image
In what ways are we tempted to break the second commandment? How in that do we make “caricatures” of God? Why do we do this?
III. Being Remade into God’s Image
We want an image of God, but we don’t have to make our own; He’s given us the perfect “icon” of Himself in Jesus (Col. 1:15). How does the gospel reverse our sinful attempts to make God into our image and submit to letting Him remake us into His?
